Often dubbed as “a complete ERP for the laboratory”, LIMS systems address the needs of all environmental, research or commercial analysis laboratories, such as pharmaceutical, chemical or petrochemical and support the modern trend to move the whole process of information gathering, decision making, calculation, review and release out into the workplace and away from the office by creating a seamless organization where:

• Analytical Instruments are integrated in the lab network, receive instructions and work lists and return finished results including raw data back to the LIMS which, in turn updates relevant information to other systems such as a Manufacturing Execution System or an ERP.
• Lab personnel will perform calculations, documentation and review results using online information from connected instruments, reference databases and other resources.
• Management can supervise the lab process, react to bottlenecks in workflow and ensure regulatory demands are met.
• The process of producing internal and external reports such as results and print out analysis certificates and other documentation will be consistent and automated.
