Why Hyperion
Extensive Modelling and DCS Experience
The Hyperion modeling and simulation group is one of the largest in the world and is dedicated to modeling, simulation and the delivery of operator training solutions in the process industry. The skills and expertise of the group reflect full scope solutions, including:
-
Project management
-
Process modeling; integration with DCS and ESD
-
Customer training and documentation
-
System maintenance and support
-
On-site services
Based in Cyprus, Greece, Russia, Bahrain, India, and the UK, our engineers have been deployed to customer sites throughout the globe. Their vast project delivery experience and extensive knowledge of a large number of industrial process technologies differentiate Hyperion from its competitors. Over the last few years, we devote more than 60,000 man-hours per annum developing operator training simulators alone. We have delivered projects for companies like BP, Aramco, Shell, Luberef etc. for the following processes:
| Oil and Gas: |
Off-shore platforms, Liquefied Natural Gas, Sulfur Recovery |
| Chemicals: |
P-xylene, p-terephthalic acid, propylene Oxide, t-butyl alcohol, ammonia, methanol, acetic acid, linear alkyl-benzenes |
| Refining: |
Crude/Vacuum Distillation, Fluid Catalytic Cracking and Hydro-cracking |
| Petrochemicals: |
Ethylene |
| Polymers: |
Poly-ethylene, Poly-propylene |
| Power: |
Power |
Furthermore, Hyperion engineers have significant experience with all major DCS systems, like Honeywell, Yokogawa, ABB, Foxboro, and Emerson. For operator training simulators the DCS is part of the solution offered; the dynamic process models should be linked either to the actual DCS hardware or an emulated control and safety system. For real time optimization, the software is directly connected to the plant DCS to collect data and return controller set-points that will optimize the operation.
