Dynamic Simulation Studies
At the conceptual design phase, dynamic simulation studies are particularly valuable in evaluating process design options and carrying out controllability studies. During the detailed design stage, dynamic simulation is used as a tool to assess operability of the process, verify the control philosophy, check and develop start-up/ shutdown procedures, and examine safety case scenarios. Engineering studies using dynamic simulation are also valuable in identifying potential commissioning difficulties, verifying commissioning procedures and establishing control settings and calibration.
Hyperion uses state of the art commercial software to support customer needs.
Hyperion specialists have delivered a series of safety, controllability and de-bottlenecking engineering studies using a range of dynamic simulation technologies. These studies included:
-
CCC compressor controls (antisurge, load-sharing, power limiting and master performance control).
-
Sequence logic for complex operations.
-
Options to simulate changes in operation modes.
The benefits from the early identification and elimination of potential issues are substantial resulting in quicker start-up, reduced downtime and significant reduction of off-spec product.
