Hyperion Systems Engineering Ltd. sponsored the 19th European Conference on Applied Thermodynamics (ttpl.chemeng.ntua.gr) held on September 6th to 10th, 2002 at the NOMIKOS Conference center in Santorini, Greece. The conference was organized by the Chemical Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens (Εθνικό Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο) (www.chemeng.ntua.gr). The scope of the conference was to bring together engineers and scientists from University and Industry promoting the discussions of all relevant aspects related to the practical applications within Chemical Thermodynamics. The conference covered both theoretical and experimental research on applied thermodynamics with applications in the areas of the environment, biotechnology, petroleum technology, materials, polymers, electrolyte solutions, etc.HYPERION, currently employing more than 60 Chemical Engineers in Nicosia, Cyprus, Athens, Greece and Manama, Bahrain, not only sponsored the conference financially but also contributed to the Technical Part with a Poster Presentation. Dr. Vassilis Harismiadis, Technology Manager of the Dynamic Analysis and Training Simulation Business Unit (DATS) presented his work entitled “Which Thermodynamics for which Application: The Case of Operator Training Simulators”.
